So why not just pick up to as close to where we left off as possible... and truly what is a blog post without pictures...
Ben got his first big boy hair cut. Now he has had his hair cut before, starting at about 11 months actually to try and reign in those thick beautiful locks, but I have always left it in a little boy almost bowl cut style. This is the first "big boy" hair cut he has had and he looked ADORABLE!!!
Before...
After...
Like I said... ADORABLE!
The boys have really started to notice each other... and like each other, at least for now. :) Ben loves his little brother. When they ride close together in the back seat of the car, Ben reaches down and holds Nathan's hand. Often Ben will try to carry the car seat (and in turn drag it around the floor) He is the first to hear Nate when he cries, and will even take a passy (or Sass as they are known in our home) out of his own mouth to share with brother. He is SOOOOO SWEET!
And on that same note, Nathan has started to notice and react to Ben. He watches his big brother so closely, laughs at him when they play, and loves to stroke his hair, which Ben likes until Nathan grabs a handfull and yanks. And even then Ben comes back for more. :)
Moving on down the timeline of things... :)
We watched the World Series, yeah Cards. Ben during that time started wearing his baseball cap, and I just thought he was precious! :)
He wore that every evening for like 3 days. Took it off only after he was asleep. :)
I have also learned that Ben has such a helpful attitude. Actually I think its more than that, I think truly that this is just a gift from God that he has. He is so happy when he is helping someone. He honestly LOVES it. From the way he tries to help take care of brother, to the way he helps pick up toys and sort socks and blankets from the laundry... His "job" right now is to put away the silverware from the dishwasher to the drawer. He knows which drawer they go into, I take out the knives first, and then he unloads everything else from the silverware rack and puts it away. Now truth be told, I have to redo it after he just throws everything into the drawer, but still he is happy and learning to be a help. He also is much happier in the grocery store or even in general if he feels like he is contributing. So our newest thing is he helps push the cart and pick out the items. We haven't had any trouble so far. We'll see how it goes. :)
Moving on to halloween... This year we went low key. Sunday afternoon we went to the Presbyterian Church's annual trunk or treat. Ben was a dog...
And Nathan was a Tiger...
Then on actual halloween, Ben came down with a terrible cough, so we went to cousin Lillian's house, stayed inside and just handed out candy to people who came to their door. Did I mention he likes to be helpful... He loved doing that, would put candy in each kids bag, then tell them thank you. :)
We've had the joy of learning, as all parents joke about, why buy the present when they love the box...
Let's see... what else is going on with Ben... He loves cheese, he will run to the fridge just randomly sometimes and pull on the door, asking for his cheese. The boy knows what he wants... :) He also loves to chew on crushed ice... He walks around with a cup of ice and a spoon and he is happy. He loves popsicles, another item that he knows is in the freezer and is requested frequently. He does get some at home, usually after dinner as a special treat, however as he has both sets of grandparents wrapped around his little finger, he often gets them at Nana and PoppaD's and at PawPaw and MawMaws house...
We've talked a lot about Benjamin here... Let's move on to some Nathan for a bit... :) Gotta play fair. :)
Nathan has taken to loving bath time.
He laughs and splashes and just has a great time in the water. I am hoping this carries over to this summer and that he will enjoy the sprinklers and swimming as much as his big brother does. :)
He is such a snuggle bunny. When he sits with you, he snuggles really close into your neck and I just LOVE IT!!! Brother loves being held a lot. Alot a lot alot. I think he might be a little spoiled. :)
He is officially six months old. At his check up he measured something like 18 lbs 5 oz. He is in the 85% for height and weight. This is a change from where he was at four months. Back then his weight was in the 50% range and his height in the 95%. Now we are 85% for both. :) Big boy! Happy Boy!
Nathan has had a bit of a rough month here lately... He developed the same cold that his big brother had halloween. It took a little longer to actually develop into anything for Nater Tater, but when it did it was FIERCE! Not to mention that he also cut his first tooth. Broke thru the day after Thanksgiving. :) So we spent a lot of days at home in our PJs.
Now all that being said for Nathan's rought month. You would NEVER know it just looking at him. He as always was the happiest sweetest most content child I have ever had the priviledge of being around!!!
Random group shot...
Go Hogs!! They didn't in fact beat LSU as we had hoped, BUT they did have a great season and by the fun and watch parties we have had lately it has increased Ben's love of Football.
We had a very laid back Thanksgiving Holiday. Ben and Nathan were both still sick (like I said it was a whole month) MawMaw and PawPaw and Aunt Say were out of town, and Nana and PoppaD were both sick as well. So we had an impromptu Thanksgiving dinner at my house. Mamaw Jackson, you will be proud to know that I somewhat remembered how to make dressing! And it was GOOD!!! Aunt Lauren, Uncle Brent, Aunt Tonya, and Lillian joined us and we had a great time. :)
And that brings us fairly current...
Right now we just decorated for Christmas. I love Christmas! Our tree lights are on pretty much 24 hours a day right now. :)
And as always Ben trying to be a big helper... Well sort of... He filled all the boxes that I emptied. :)
And now we are having fun enjoying the tree in the living room, getting ready for Christmas!! What fun!!!
Okay... We will try this again!! Maybe this time I won't get quite so behind!! :)
Have a great day!
