Travel to Texas

This past weekend, the second on our long list of traveling plans for the Month of September, we went to Saleda Texas for Tyler's cousin Shannon's wedding.

Let me start by saying we were a little nervous about the wedding, given that it was outside, in South Texas, with a reception afterward. All those fears though were really quite unnecesarry.

The family had picked an AWESOME location for the wedding. It even had a creek running in the middle, SO GORGEOUS!!! I'll try to get some pictures up eventually because you just won't believe it until you see it, yes it was that wonderful. Anyway the way the setting was built, it was completely out of the sun and breezy. Plus it was a fairly short program, and one of the best wedding ceremonies I have heard, so we weren't out doors long and we were all interested the whole time. Not to mention that while handing out the programs, the house party also handed out paper fans and bottled water. Such a great idea!! I don't have pictures yet since I was a little pre-occupied watching Benjamin and trying to keep him quiet thru the ceremony, so I'll try to get some from family members to post.

Anyway after the wedding, the reception was on site, and while it lasted a little longer than Benjamin was able to hold out, everyone attending had a great time.

A short clip on the Benjamin side of things... Saturday afternoon he was great, laughing, playing with toys... we leave for the wedding and he's fine... About halfway thru the reception he gets warm, falls asleep, despite the early time and the loud reception. After getting him back to the hotel, it becomes quite obvious he has a fever. He won't lie down, he is crying and fussing, and obvious uncomfortable. Poor baby...

He kept just about everyone awake in the room, almost everyone, his father could very easily sleep through a hurricane in the room, so he slept just fine. Sunday morning he was still running a fever, fairly high actually and that kept up thru most of the day, making for a very fun trip home from Texas let me tell you... He got to where he HATED being in the car seat. So of course I had to take a picture.

He has an ear infection FYI, very severe in one ear, starting in the other. Started on meds today, so we are looking at another day at home tomorrow, then hopefully the medicine kicks in full force and he is back at the Babysitters. First Fever, is that on the "Baby's firsts" calendars??

And to finish these posts, here is a picture just for fun... I love this shot, it's like "ahoy Matey" without words... :)
