I Heart My DysFUNctional Family!!

This holiday weekend, we had our annual Webb Family Reunion... Okay let me break that down just a bit, when I say "annual" it really did used to be an annual Labor Day thing, but then a few years ago we tried moving it away from the holiday and just to a set summer weekend, then for a few years we worked the reunion around planned family events, weddings, children being born, etc, so now we are back on track and back to our "annual" Webb Family Reunion... We had a great time! :)

This year we decided to meet at Picwic State park in Tennesse, it was awesome!! We had a party barge boat for Sunday, 2 jet ski's for the whole weekend, some people went fishing off the dock, we played cards, pool, and of course skip-bo (a family favorite), and I ate so much food, I'm still stuffed!!! There were over 20 of us there, and we split between 2 cabins right on the water.

The good thing about this family is that they are all very loving and welcoming (okay and goofy), so it doesn't really matter that we only see each other once every few years, we always come back together laughing and having a great time.

An Added bonus, my cousins who we haven't seen in like 12 years were able to join us this year too, and it was so fun to reconnect with them. We did miss Alison and Danny (can't wait to see you in December!), and of course it was sad that Uncle Bart couldn't join us, but we will see you soon!!

On a sad note, this was the first family reunion without the founding generation (that would be my Pepaw and his siblings) as they have all gone to Heaven, and there was a little bit of an emptiness around the dinner tables, but we know they would be proud of us. We miss them terribly, but what a legacy we saw this weekend, and what a wonderful way to make sure that this next generation doesn't forget the family they came from. We might have told a few funny stories too. It was good for the soul. :)
