Summer Goals...

So i saw on a blog that I follow that some people like to make goals for their summer. I've never been really great at keeping goals, so I thought well what better time to actually put it out there in writing for all 3 people who read this blog to see. :)

Okay well since I do have about 8 more weeks of "vacation" left, if you can call chasing a toddler and taking care of a newborn vacation... let me rephrase... since I have about 7-8 more weeks before I have to go back to work what better time to get some things done around the house that I don't usually have the opportunity to do...

Okay here is my list...

1.) I want to have a garage sale. This has been a year long goal for me, and I usually HATE garage sales, but it's a good way to make a little spending cash, get rid of some clutter, and if you can discipline yourself not to bring anything back into your house after it is moved out to the sale, you can get a lot of organizing done too. My goal is to have a garage sale before July 15Th. I'm thinking either June 10-11, July 1-2, or July 8-9. We'll see how fast I can get everything together...

2.) I want to make a goal to get out of the house and take Ben to play at least 1-2 days a week. There are a lot of things you can do around our area that are free, parks, a splash park, feeding the ducks, the library has activities throughout the summer, etc. I can't take Nate to all of those things, but that's what grandparents are for right. :)

3.) Daily reading time. I'm working really hard to get back on track with daily Bible time. I find that even if it's only for a few minutes, my overall attitude and actions are more positive and more productive if I take that time for myself and God to get on the same page, His page. It seems that anytime I am strained for time, this is the thing that gets cut out, but I need it back in my schedule!

4.) I want to keep somewhat of a schedule this summer. Being off work isn't an excuse to sit around all day and watch what little TV we have... I need to make a point to get up at a decent hour, get to bed at a decent hour, and keep a schedule, if not for myself, for the kiddos. I think it will definitely make the transition back to work a lot less stressful for all of us.

5.) And lastly the usual goal for any woman who has had a baby, as soon as possible I want to get into a healthier lifestyle with the side effect of losing weight. :). Before I was pregnant with Nathan I went on a crash diet that was AWESOME. I lost weight and just felt better about myself. It was great that it reminded me how much better I feel and how much happier I am when I don't feel quite so large. Now I wasn't skinny by any means, still a healthy and manageable size, but still just better about myself overall. The problem with that was that after it was over the 30 day diet, I immediately went right back into the unhealthy eating habits. Partly because I was pregnant and didn't care anymore, but partly because I had such quick success that it didn't change my lifestyle at all. My goal this time is to maybe still do the AWESOME weight loss plan, but maybe not. Either way I need some habits changed, not just weight loss...

Okay I'm done rambling... Here are some pictures from the boys from the last few days... :)

Nathan has these gorgeous blue eyes, but you very rarely get to see them since he sleeps like 16 hours a day... So here are his open beautiful eyes in all their glory. :)

He likes to sleep all covered up, and often will move to where his face is covered as well... since he can't really move that well, this usually ends up by accident, but he sleeps very well. :)

Ben has taken to climbing into the baby items more and more lately. We saw earlier his fun in the baby swing, here he is climbing into the babies bath tub. Walked into the bathroom and there he was, sitting in the net and everything...

And finally one of Ben's best times of the day is after his bath when he brushes his teeth. We make faces into the mirror, laugh at him when he makes me laugh and he laughs at me when I copy him. It's a great part of our routine.

Have a great day!!!
